This dark cauldron of influences binds together elements of black, death and doom metal to spew out a corrosive aural blend. Oppressive in it's atmosphere, this album imparts a true sense of dread and misery, encapsulating the message in a perfect emotional package.
Favorite track: The Darkness Whispers in My Ear.
The vocal performance is just staggering !!!. A really black-doom vibe here, this track (Emptiness) is heavy as the depths of hell and I can't wait to hear the whole thing. Edit: amazing album, my 1st to go on my top 20 releases of the year.
Favorite track: Emptiness.
"There’s a palpable dose of black metal in here, most notably in the vocals, which squeeze out the Hebrew lyrics like confessions extracted under torture. Imagine Mutilation Rites playing doom metal and you’re most of the way there. This, along with a few bursts of blasting (“The Darkness Whispers In My Ear”, “Zohamah”) and some moments in “Emptiness” that remind me of Thantifaxath, already comprises all the black metal elements that are readily apparent, but it’s enough to spice things up sufficiently. On the other end of the spectrum, “Black Cloud” is the most straightforward death metal track, mostly stomping along at a lumbering pace and boasting some surprisingly groovy riffs. It’s the shortest song on here, which leads me to another aspect in which the album scores points with me: it’s only half an hour long. That may sound like a back-handed compliment, but in a genre that seems fraught with overlong compositions that go nowhere, I find this very refreshing. It’s the death doom equivalent of a quick fix, with plenty of killer and very little filler."

"Backed by thunderous drumming and a deep and malignant-sounding gravel-throated bass, what follows are sequences of jabbing, moaning, and squalling fretwork — with a sound that sometimes spirals skyward like fire, or like hands raised in supplication, seeking deliverance from a great wickedness — or yearning that it might come more quickly. While the music follows its horrible yet enthralling path, the vocals come in serrated-edge cries, a mix of pain and/or obliterating fury intense enough to split the skin."
- NO CLEAN SINGING
"the album is an awesome form of depressive death and atmospheric black metal expression, that is a must listen for any fan of the genre."
- Death Comes Lifting
"Kicking off things with thunder and stormy rain is new World, and it captures the soundscape of what is to come accordingly. A bit of dissonant black metal, a bit of doomy atmosphere, and some death metal chugging. Genre traits are not bound to exact attributes though, since variety is subtle but noticeable. While Black Cloud is very fast paced, with hints of death metal, the intense vocal performance and tremolo picked melodies across the album scream "black metal." "

“Mournful, horrifying, twisted, evil…across seven tracks Zohamah embody it all and much more. Cold and calculating, it’s easy to believe that tracks like New World and The Darkness Whispers in My Ear were born in the frigid and icy locales of Norway.
Such is the perfect style of old-school blackness that Zohamah deliver. The bleakness weighs heavily as the vocals howl burying you deep under mounds of suffocating intensity.”

"The production of [ Zohamah's ] "Spread My Ashes" is quite intense and powerful, and the result turns out to be extremely sludgy actually. On top of it, the mix is one of the most professional ones I’ve experienced in years. No, that’s an exaggeration, but at least in months. Or weeks. Days?... Never mind, it is beyond expectation, and I adore the fact that all, and I mean ALL, instruments (vocals included, evidently, if you can agree to call them an ‘instrument’ – why shouldn’t you anyway) are equally represented."
An intentionally cryptic band from Israel, Zohamah, taken from the Kabbalah, translates to "darkness" or "pollution". It is a form of evil that results in kilkull (or spiritual damage). Beginning as a one-man-band, Zohamah now has a full line-up and are preparing to begin to spread their dark message to the world.
"Spead My Ashes" is the debut album from this unique band that seemlessly combine Death Metal, Black Metal, and Doom into a poisonous but intoxicating musical cocktail.
There was a time when heavy, unfiltered, and dangerous music was harvested and supported by those unafraid to venture to
those parts of the mind and soul unknown to the masses; the very left hand path of the psyche that when tapped flows through ones veins for eternity

Brutal, raw, blasts for miles - this thing gives me constant goosebumps. All tracks are aweseome!
EDIT: After some days and over 20 spins of this record I have to say how beautiful, how heart-wrenching, how absolutly fucking PERFECT this record is. It speaks to me on so many levels. The music alone is pure beauty. The vocals are so sincere and true (no not trve, true) and the lyrics are telling stories about me I didn't even know before. I love this record. I FUCKING LOVE IT!!!!
